Vipers goaltender emergency backup for Kitchener

LaSalle Vipers goaltender Paolo Battisti served as the Kitchener Rangers emergency backup Sunday afternoon against the Windsor Spitfires, as they only had one healthy goaltender available for the game.

The LaSalle native suited up for his first career OHL game, backing up Luke Richardson who made 26 saves in a 4-3 OT loss.

He was returned to the Vipers following the game, and will be available for their next game, Wednesday, Dec. 16 against the Chatham Maroons.

The game is the Vipers annual Collins Barrow Teddy Bear Night. Fans are encouraged to bring in a new, unwrapped toy in support of Sparky’s Toy Drive.
