WTG Windsor! 65,000 bottles collected in Water For Flint Initiative!

By Dave Ducharme – The Spitfires are proud to announce that through the generosity of our fans, dedicated local businesses and the community at large, we were able to collect more than 40,000 bottles of water tonight to kick off our Water For Flint initiative. (update: 65,000 as of Jan 23, 2016)

“We didn’t really have any expectations in terms of an amount going into this,” said Spitfires Coordinator of Fan Development, Nathan Sellon. “But we’re all blown away at the community support we’ve received. It’s an issue that resonates with everyone and, once again, our city has come up huge.”

Sellon says donations will be accepted again Friday – at The Crease location on the Community Rinks side of the WFCU Centre between 4 and 8 pm and again on Saturday from 9am to noon.

All donations received will be transported to Flint on Saturday, with the help of the good folks at UniFab out in Leamington.
