Windsor Express Extend Series Lead To 2-0 with 100-97 win.
The Windsor Express extended their series lead to 2-0 after a big third quarter comeback against the Niagara River Lions on Tuesday night, 100-97.
The Express started off the game. The Express went on a run late in the quarter, and were able to bring the score within two, 26-24.
Sherron Collins tied the score at 26-26 at the beginning of the second quarter. Niagara was able to pull back, and take the lead for the remainder of the quarter. Billy Rush hits a three pointer to close the first half. Windsor went into halftime down by 1, 46-45.
The second half was off to a slow start for the Express, who did not get to the basket until three minutes in. Brandon Robinson hit two free throws, and put the Express back in the lead with less than three minutes left. The Express went into the final quarter with a 74-70 advantage.
The final quarter was exciting for Windsor, extending their lead by as much as ten, twice. Shaquille Keith gets Windsor to the century mark after going for the one handed slam late in the game. Windsor walks away with a 100-97 victory, and extends their series lead to 2-0.
Brandon Robinson lead in scoring for the third game in a row, with 24 points.
Kirk Williams Jr put up a double double performance with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Tony Bennett had a double double performance as well, adding 17 points and 10 assists.
Maurice Bolden put up 13 rebounds and had 5 blocks.
B.J. Monteiro nearly recorded a triple double with 24 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists.
Logan Stutz added 19 points of his own.
The Windsor Express will travel to St Catharines on Friday May 6th for the chance to sweep the series and advance to the Conference Semi-Finals.
Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
