The Windsor Express have signed Chicago native Johnny Griffin Jr for the up-coming 2017-18 season.
The 6’ 5” guard joins the Express from Loyola New Orleans where he was team captain while competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference. Griffin was twice named as SSAC Player of the
Week and was named SSAC First Team All-Conference.
“I’m really excited,” said Griffin. “I’m coming in to help the Express with the ultimate goal of winning a championship. That’s the goal for next year and I’m ready to be a part of that.”
Griffin started all 32 games in his senior year, averaging 14.3 points and 10 rebounds per contest, and ranked second in the SSAC in double-doubles with 16. He set a school record with 258 rebounds in his junior year and then bettered that with 319 last season.
Training camp starts in November and Griffin can’t wait for it to start.
“I’m looking forward to training camp and working with the guys and learning a lot from Coach Jones,” Griffin said. “It will be a great year.”
