Windsor Spitfires Advance to Memorial Cup Final – Spitfires Double-up OHL Champion Otters 4-2

Jeremiah Addison scored three goals and Michael DiPietro was at his acrobatic best while making 33 saves as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Erie Otters 4-2 game six of the 2017 Memorial Cup tournament at the WFCU Centre Wednesday night.

With the win, the Spitfires (3-0) have advanced directly to the 2017 Memorial Cup championship game on Sunday night

Mikhail Sergachev had the other goal for the Spitfires, who extended their winning streak in the tournament to 11 games , going back to win the team won back-to-back Memorial Cups in 2009 and 2010.

Spitfires winger Gabriel Vilardi, considered to be one of the top prospects for the 2017 National Hockey League Entry Draft this summer, chipped in with four assists for Windsor.

Kyle Maksimovich and Taylor Raddysh had the goals for the Ontario Hockey League champion Otters (2-1) while Troy Timpano made 15 saves.

The Otters will now play the Saint John Sea Dogs in the tournament semi-final on Friday night with the winner of that contest moving on to play for the Memorial Cup championship on Sunday evening at the WFCU Centre.
