St. Clair Hosts OCAA Playoff Games

Saints Host Three Playoff Games on Super Saturday
St. Clair will host three OCAA Playoff Games on Saturday, February 17th as part of Super Saturday at the SportsPlex. The Women’s Volleyball matchup between the Saints and the Durham Lords (Oshawa) at 1:00pm is a quarterfinal with the winner advancing to the OCAA Championship Final Four. The basketball games are first round crossover matchups against the East Division with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals. The Women’s Basketball team also faces Durham College at 5:00pm while the Men’s team hosts La Cité (Ottawa) at 7:30pm.

Women’s Volleyball – 1:00pm
The Women’s Volleyball matchup between the Saints and the Durham Lords (Oshawa) at 1:00pm is a quarter-final with the winner advancing to the OCAA Championship Final Four.
The Saints women’s volleyball squad was second in the West Division with a record of 16-2 and are ranked 2nd in Ontario and 8th in Canada. St. Clair won 48 sets and only dropped 10. St. Clair is led by two time All Canadian outsider hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders). Huggins was second in the OCAA with 3.55 kills/set with a kill percentage of .325 and second in the OCAA with 4.4 points/set. She also chipped in with 38 aces and 114 digs.
The Lords finished 3rd in the East Division with a record of 14-4 and are ranked 5th in Ontario. Durham won 45 sets and lost 22. The Lords are led by first team all star middle Amanda Larsen who averaged 3.4 points/set with a kill percentage of .383.
All Full time St. Clair students in attendance will be eligible to win one of two $500 scholarships at each game.
Women’s Basketball – 5:00pm
Durham College Lords @ St. Clair Saints
The Lords hold a record of 3-11 while the Saints were 13-3 which finished 2nd Place in the West Division while being currently ranked #4 in the OCAA.
Men’s Basketball – 7:30pm
La Cité Coyotes @ St. Clair Saints
The Coyotes were 8th in the East Division with a 4-14 record and face the West Division champions Saints who had a 15-3 record while being 2nd ranked in the province. The St. Clair Men also moved up to #8 in this week’s CCAA National Poll.
At halftime of the Men’s Basketball game St. Clair will be recognizing the CCSA National Champion Saints Women’s Softball team with a banner unveiling.
