STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF RECAP MAY 01 2017 – CAPS WIN, CROSBY INJURED
CAPITALS SURVIVE LATE PENGUINS RALLY TO WIN IN OVERTIME
Washington surrendered a 2-0 lead in the final 1:53 of regulation, but Kevin Shattenkirk scored his first goal of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs on a power play at 3:13 of overtime as the Capitals cut their series deficit to 2-1.
R2, Gm3: Kevin Shattenkirk takes Nicklas Backstrom’s dish and rips a wrist shot past Marc-Andre Fleury to give the Capitals a 3-2 overtime win
Also last night, Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby was totally rocked with a BC Two Hander to the head by Matt Niskanen. He laid on the ice and then needed help to make his way to the dressing room. The Penguins have not released any information on his condition. No word on if there will be any action taken by the league against Niskanen.
